LAND managers and farming businesses across wales can apply for capital works funding under the Glastir Small Grants Scheme, to carry out projects to improve water quality and reduce the risk of flooding.
The water Theme offers Capital works that have been chosen for their broad and general environmental benefits. The works could include tree planting, hedgerow planting/gapping up/coppicing, relocation of sheep dips or handling pens or putting hardcore in gateways. Multiple projects can be submitted up to a value of £5,000 per application window.
if you wish to be considered for a grant you will need to submit an Expression of interest (EOi), which is available online via the Rural Payments wales (RPw) Online facility.
The window for Expressions of interest for the water small grant scheme is open from July 9, until August 22, 2018.
To enable the welsh Government to select those
EOis that offer the highest environmental value for
money, all EOis will be scored and ranked, with contracts being offered to the highest ranking EOis.
Each land parcel has been awarded a different number of points by RPw, depending on the specific activity and the combination of target objectives it overlaps with, and this is shown during the online application process.
Glastir Small Grants forms part of the welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme for wales 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the welsh Government.
