Plîs cysylltwch â ni – rydym yma i helpu
Wel, dyma ni wedi cyrraedd rhifyn arall o bapur newydd Y Tir. Dwi’n siwr eich bod i gyd fel fi wedi bod yn brysur efo’r cneifio a’r cynaeafu – roedd e’n braf eleni medru neud y gwaith i gyd heb orfod gofidio os oedd glaw ar y ffordd neu beidio! Typical, fel rwy’n teipio mae’r nefoedd wedi agor a hithau’n tywallt y glaw – ychydig o ryddhad i bawb.
Ond mae’r tywydd sych yma yn achosi pryderon i amaethwyr efo nifer yn dechrau defnyddio bwyd y gaeaf yn barod er mwyn cadw’r stoc i fynd. Os ydych yn gofidio am unrhyw beth ac angen cymorth plîs cysylltwch â ni fel undeb – rydym yma i helpu. Os ydych yn rhan o’r cynllun Glastir mae nifer o ddatganiadau ynglŷn â’r ‘derogations’ wedi ei chyhoeddi yn ddiweddar – cadwch lygad ar ein tudalen Facebook a Twitter am y diweddaraf neu cysylltwch â’r swyddfa.

Fel y soniais yn y rhifyn diwethaf rydym yn trefnu taith i’r tai cyffredin i gwrdd â’n haelod seneddol lleol Ben Lake yn Mis Hydref. Byddwn yn teithio fyny ac ymweld â fferm ar y 16eg Hydref ac yna ymweld â’r Tai Cyffredin a theithio yn ôl ar y 17eg Hydref. Mae llefydd wedi eu bwcio’n barod, felly cyntaf i’r felin. Os hoffech ymuno a ni ar y daith yma, plîs cysylltwch â ni yn y swyddfa am fwy o wybodaeth.
Fel mae nifer ohonoch wedi clywed dwi’n siŵr, mae Mr Dai Jones, Pontrhydfendigaid yn ymddeol o’r yswiriant efo’r undeb ar ôl gwasanaethu am 32 mlynedd. Rydym yn trefnu cinio ymddeol i ddathlu ei wasanaeth ffyddlon a’i ymroddiad anhygoel i’r undeb. Fe’i cynhelir yng Ngwesty’r Marine, Aberystwyth ar nos Wener 31ain Awst am 7.30yh.
Os oes gennych ddiddordeb dod i’r cinio cysylltwch â’r swyddfa sirol yn Llambed i fwcio eich tocynnau – angen enwau a thaliad erbyn Awst 20fed.
Here we are, another edition of Y Tir. I’ve been flat out with shearing and getting the silage in as quickly as possible – wasn’t it great to be able to do the harvesting without worrying if it would rain. Saying that, as I’m writing this, it’s pouring down.
A bit of welcome relief for everybody I think. But this dry weather has been a cause for concern for all farmers, with many having to use their winter feed in order to supplement the lack of forage. If you’re worried about possible problems due to the weather or anything else for that matter, please contact us – we are here to help. If you’ve got a Glastir contract then please keep an eye out for the updates regarding the derogations that have been announced. We’ll be updating our Facebook and Twitter regularly or contact the office.
It was great to see many of you at the Royal Welsh Show and we look forward to welcoming you to the local shows coming up in August Cardigan on the 4th, Lampeter on the 11th and Talybont on the 25th. Call in for a cuppa, sweet treat and a chat.
As I mentioned in the last column we are organising a trip to London to the House of Commons by invitation of Ben Lake MP, we will be visiting a farm on the way down on October 16 and returning on the October 17. If you’d like to join us on the trip, please get in touch. Tickets have already been sold and it’s first come first served.
As many of you may have already heard, Mr Dai Jones, Pontyrhydfendigaid is retiring from the union after 32 years of loyal service. We are holding a dinner to celebrate his outstanding service and show appreciation of his dedication to the union. It’s held in the Marine Hotel, Aberystwyth on Friday August 31 at 7.30pm. All are very welcome to come and celebrate, contact the Lampeter office to book your place. We need the final number of names by August 20.

After celebrating with a card from head office and a chocolate cake from the Executive Committee, Huw said: “Time has flown but I’ve really enjoyed my work with the union. I would also like to thank head office for the kind messages, all the staff who have worked with me over the years and the members for their support, and I look forward to continuing to work with you all in the future.”
Busnes newydd i Lois
Llongyfarchiadau i Lois Jones, Ty’n Drain, Trawsfynydd ar sefydlu busnes newydd o roi cyfle i ymwelwyr arwain eu defaid Zwartbles oddi amgylch y fferm. Fel rhan o’r profiad, byddant yn sôn am y fferm a hanes ardal Trawsfynydd. Braf iawn gweld merch ifanc yn meddwl am syniadau newydd mewn cyfnod ansicr yn y diwydiant amaeth.

In addition, if you have any examples of scams which you have received please bring them with you as they will be more than happy to discuss them.
Emma Taylor from Building Resilience in Catchments (BRICs) will be with us on the Wednesday of the show between 10am and 3.30pm, to provide information on their research project into reducing the level of nutrients entering the Milford Haven Waterway through improving water, nutrient

Don’t forget that you are not allowed to cut hedgerows between March 1 and August 31. However, if you wish to grow a winter arable crop and the normal agricultural practice determines that it is planted before August 31 you can cut the relevant sides of the hedgerow from August 1.
Barod am Sioe Môn?
Yda chi’n barod amdani? Wel Sioe Môn debyg iawn (Awst 14 a 15)! Rydym yn edrych ymlaen yn eiddgar i’ch croesawu i babell yr undeb eleni. Bydd bwrlwm a hwyl yn eich aros, gyda chystadlaethau amrywiol i’r plant, a chyfle i roi’r byd yn ei le dros baned. Bydd cyfle hefyd i chi’r ffermwyr ddweud eich dweud wrth wleidyddion.
Bydd hefyd un cymeriad enwog yn disgwyl amdanoch y tu allan i’r babell, ond beth a’r wyneb y ddaear yw ei enw? Cofiwch alw heibio felly am baned a sgwrs, gewch chi benderfynu pa yntau fi Euros neu Alaw yw’r gorau am wneud tê!
Cafwyd diwrnod hynod fuddiol yng nghwmni Huw a Lousia draw yn Nolgellau fis diwethaf. Do, mi fentrodd Alaw dros y bont i’r tir mawr! Roedd yr ymweliad hwn yn gyfle gwerthfawr i ni fel swyddogion sirol newydd weld sut oedd Meirionnydd yn gweithredu fel Sir a pha mor llwyddiannus yw Huw ar reoli’r swyddfa a rhoi’r gwasanaeth gorau i’r aelodau.
Braf oedd gweld pa mor ddefnyddiol i Huw oedd yr amrywiol systemau cyfrifiadurol a’r cyfryngau ar-lein. Rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn am eich croeso, ac am eich parodrwydd i’n cynorthwyo ers ymuno a’r undeb yn enwedig gan y staff yswiriant a chi aelodau Ynys Môn.
Are you ready for it? Anglesey Show of course (August 14 and 15)! We’re eagerly looking forward to welcome you to the union pavillion. There will be lots of events and a variety of competitions for children as well as a chance to put the world to rights with a
cup of tea. There will also be a chance for members to speak to high-level politicians. You might also meet a new character in the porch, but what on earth is it’s name? Please call in for a cuppa and chat, you can decide if it’s me Euros or Alaw that makes the best cuppa. Last month we visited Huw Jones and Louisa Moore at the FUW office in Dolgellau. Can you believe it, Alaw ventured over the bridge to the mainland! This was a really valuable visit as it gave us an insight to how Huw Jones manages the office and gives a professional and competent service to the members. Huw has really embraced the various IT programmes and social media and it was great to see how useful it is. We’re very grateful for the welcome and assistance we’ve received since joining the union and in particular from the insurance staff at the office and of course Anglesey members
