FUW – sponsored stock judging winners

BRECKNOCK county Y FC federation was the overall winner of the Wales Y FC/FUW beef and lamb stock judging competitions at the Winter Fair. Second were Carmarthenshire and Radnor were third. Members also took part in other competitions including the Randal Parker Foods carcass judging, lamb trimming and decorate a Christmas tree. Carmarthenshire won the carcass judging, Radnor were second and Gwent third. In the lamb trimming competition to prepare a lamb for a fatstock show, Rhys Francis (Carmarthenshire) was first, Hugh Prothero (Brecknock) second and Aled Groucott (Gwent) third. Elin Llywelyn Williams and Cadi Elin Williams from Eryri won the decorate a Christmas tree competition with Ceredigion second and Carmarthenshire third. Wales Y FC competitions committee chairman Arwel Jones said: “The members of the organisation, who have competed here in the last two days, have displayed eagerness and passion for agriculture. “They have worked extremely hard to prepare their breeding stock or practicing for the stock judging and lamb trimming competitions.”
