Laura Elliott (pictured right) from Glamorgan YFC is the new chairman of Wales YFC. Elected by the members at Wales YFC’s aGM held recently at The Marine Hotel, aberystwyth.
Laura will lead the organisation during the forthcoming year.
Laura, has been involved in the movement for 18 years gaining national success in both the choir and Member of the Year competition.
Along with her younger brother, was raised on the family farm in Gower.
After being elected as chairman, Laura said: “It’s an honour to be elected chairman of such a wonderful organisation, to whom I owe so much.
“I am looking forward to working with our team of dedicated officers and staff to ensure that we’re implementing what the members want to see from young farmers in Wales.
“I want to continue to promote the exciting opportunities that exist for every member and link more closely with key stakeholders to explore potential new areas of work which could safeguard the organisation for the future.” Laura announced her campaign of the year to be “YFC – The Best Version of Me” which will shine a spotlight on the support services available to members and wider ruralcommunitiesinareassuch as wellbeing and mental health.
