Tributes to past-FUW officials

ONE of the founder members of the FUW in Glamorgan Mr John Llywellyn (pictured right) passed away on February 15 2018.

John farmed Cefncolstyn Farm, Pentyrch, Cardiff and was FUW Glamorgan chairman in 1956 – 1958, 1974 – 1975 and 1987 – 1988.

He became FUW Glamorgan president in 2004 and remained as president until he passed away. He was married to Diane and have two daughters, Charlotte and Alexandra and two grandsons, William and Alex. His daughter Charlotte runs Cefncolstyn Farm.

Past FUW Glamorgan chairman Mr Edward Woosnam (pictured left) passed away on March 5 2018.

Edward was brought up by his grandmother (‘gu’) at the Glwyd, Clwydtrawscae, Bedlinog. He went to live with his parents at Gwaunarllwyddes after leaving Bedlinog school.

He won livestock judging in YFC classes in the late 1960s/1970s and was a member of the Ploughing and Hedging Society and the old and new Shearing Match Committees.

Edward took over the tenancy of Gwerthonor Isaf Farm in February 1971 and he was FUW Glamorgan vice chairman in 1999; chairman in 2000-2002 and became a delegate to Grand Council in 2003 until he passed away.

He was married to Glenda and have two children, Sian and David and three grandchildren, Ieuan, Dewi and Florence.
