OVER 500 YFC members took part in the Wales YFC Welsh and English public speaking competitions at the Royal Welsh Showground on April 2. As ever, the competition was close in each section with Ceredigion emerging overall winners of the Welsh section and Pembrokeshire overall winners of the English section. Wales YFC’s competitions chairman Laura Elliott said: “After weeks of intense practice, it’s a joy to see all the hard work of the members finally paying off. “We had the pleasure of witnessing outstanding performances from all members and all counties should be very proud of their members. “Public speaking competitions give members invaluable opportunities to gain confidence when speaking in public, something that will benefit them greatly later in life. Congratulations to all involved.”
