Over 400 YFc members travelled to the royal Welsh showground on in March to take part in the Wales YFc Festival of Public speaking.
Following a full day of competing the carmarthenshire Federation were the overall winners of the Welsh language competitions and the ceredigion Federation were the overall winners in the english language section.
There were experienced judges from all walks of life adjudicating in the various competitions including journalists Beti george and garry Owen, business owner Kathryn Jones from castell Howell, solicitor Kevin Thomas and past competitions chairman and teacher aled Johnson.
elen Williams, Wales YFc’s competitions chairman said: “It was a privilege to witness such a wealth of talent. Young people through the competitions on offer had the opportunity to develop their presentation and speaking skills, which will be of value to them throughout their lives and its obvious that they appreciate the skill of speaking well in public.
“On behalf of the federation, I would like to extend my thanks to all judges, stewards, trainers and supporters who helped make the event a great success.”
